Hello. Thank you for taking the time to learn a little about Creative Design!
My name is Donna Houghton. I started my design business, almost 10 years ago,  after working for a local homebuilder for 3.5 years and then for a kitchen and bath showroom for 4 years. I realized during my employment at these two companies that I love the homebuilding industry. I love taking something from scratch, envisioning the end result, and then putting all the pieces together to create spaces that people love. I also realize that some homeowners can't visualize what the new space will look like and they need help putting colors and finishes together. This is what I love to do! 

    I also remember many clients that were working with a designer feeling uneasy about choices their designer was telling them to make.  I knew right then that I wanted to change the idea that a designer tells a client what they should or shouldn't have. 

    I want to help you create spaces you love. I want you involved in the process with me. Sometimes clients can't make the selection on their own and that is ok. A designer's expertise is what you're paying for. But only after, I have talked with you about what you want your space to look like. Even if all you can tell me is what you don't like, that's a place to start.

    This website is just a small sampling of homes I've been chosen to be a part of and this page, just a little about me and how I work. I would love the chance to meet with you and hear about your project. Initial meetings are free. It is a chance for us to get to know one another and decide if we will make a good team for your project. If you are just getting started and would like referrals for builders, architects, suppliers, etc. please ask and I'm happy to suggest any of my favorites.
